Asteria

Asteria is a collaborative short film created with my classmates, where my primary responsibility was post-production audio. The goal was to create a fully immersive sonic environment that supported the emotional tone and narrative pacing of the film.

I layered a combination of existing sound effects and custom-created audio to build depth and realism within each scene. Particular attention was given to environmental ambience, transitions, and subtle texture to enhance immersion. I also experimented with audio effects to create a realistic phone-based sound treatment (voicemail and phone dialogue), which recurs throughout the film as a narrative device. Reference audio and on-location ambience provided by Peter Carney were instrumental in shaping the final soundscape.

The finished sound design creates a cohesive and atmospheric listening experience that strengthens the emotional impact of the film. This project highlights my ability to craft layered sound environments, collaborate across production teams, and use audio creatively as a storytelling tool.
